Maguga Dam is fast becoming a buzz word in the Bass Fishing fraternity. The dam is nestled between the vast Lubombo Mountain Range in the Komati River Basin. Several fish species are found in the Dam which making it ideal for artificial lure angling. The range of species includes Barbel; Eeel; Carp; Yellow Tail; Largmouth Black Bass; Bream; Mozambican Tilapia; Blue Kurper; Vlei Kurper Dwarf Tiger and Mosquito Fish. The dam is only 3 yrs old, yet already boasts a growing fish population.
The main attraction is the dam's 'Monster Bass'. There have been some record catches in these waters over the past 6 months. The current Swaziland record stands at 5.4kg, caught in mid September 2007.
Maguga offers a thrilling fishing experience, and one can expect to catch Bass between 2.5kg to 5.0kg.
